Today Gaithersburg is a sprawling and diverse urban community but found it's origins along the railway as a
distribution center, with development focused around the station.The B&O Railway station was designed by Ephraim Francis Baldwin in 1873.
I resided in Olde Town in 1978-79 and rented a second story apartment in a single family home at 203 Brooks Ave, just a block from downtown.
It was at Emporium Antiques that I was introduced to the antiques/collectibles market, and of personal import, bought both my first oriental rug and a copy of Preben Liebetrau's"Oriental Rugs In Color".
